Diamond Promise Rings
Diamond promise rings can be given or exchanged for any manner of reasons. The rings are symbols of a promise between two people whether friends, enemies or lovers. Usually, though, diamond promise rings are exchanged between those in a relationship. Depending on how much is spent on the diamond it can be an indication of a promise to remain monogamous in a relationship or the intention to give the relationship pre-engagement status, meaning it's only a matter of time until wedding bells ring. There are also eternal love promises but those promises are harder to keep. Its best to clarify just what the ring is meant for before giving it or accepting it from someone. A way to determine how much to spend on a diamond promise ring for those looking to buy their partner one is to spend a few days pay on it. Spending anything more can make it seem more like an engagement ring, which is okay if that's what you're going for. Once again, clarify your intentions. Promise rings can be worn on any finger but those rings given between couples are usually worn on the left ring finger, especially if it's a pre-engagement ring. Men don't usually wear diamond promise rings but may wear the ring if their partner is the one to give the ring rather than vice versa. Promise rings come in a variety of styles. Diamond promise rings may look like engagement rings but are usually cheaper, think diamond chip. They also have a lighter touch to them, some styled with a pair of entwined hearts or a butterfly with the diamond set in for the spots on the wings. Others are simply thin bands of white or yellow gold or sterling silver.
