Gold Charms
These are wonderful little pieces of glitter; gold charms can add a little flair to any boring necklace or bracelet. They come in all sizes, shapes and styles. People consistently spend hours looking through catalogues in order to find the perfect accent for their piece of jewelry whether it be a teddy bear or elegant pearl set in gold framing. Adding gold charms to your jewelry collection is a nice way to add some value in easy to afford increments. It also serves as a way to mark important events. Try making up a memory charm bracelet. There can be scroll or mortar board pieces to mark graduations, little presents with ribbons for special birthdays. It's even possible to find name charms for your family members, boyfriends and girlfriends. There are as many types of charms for jewelry as there are grains of sand. Gold charms are easy to buy, from the pieces you find in bubblegum machines to higher valued baubles sold in retail stores and on the internet. Most charms run in the moderate price range of ten to twenty dollars. These days a lot of gold charms are made of 14kt yellow gold that is molded into a cute decorative shape, but it is possible to find a jeweler who will handcraft one creating something unique and individual. They can also be seen in white gold or rose and green gold with small decorative accents like pearls, or brightly colored gemstones. The original gold charm has to be the tiny gold heart that serves as a locket or picture frame for that special someone's picture. Gold charms can also be engraved giving you a way to permanently mark your special charm. Engravings can be as simple as a date marking the event or the romantic, "I'll love you forever."
